John has been the senior pastor at BCC since 1988. He and his wife, Sonya, have four adult children and seven grandkids. John received his education at Minnesota Bible College (B.A.) and Hope University (M.A.). His passion is seeing God transform people’s lives, and helping BCC become a “church that unchurched people love to attend.” In his personal time, John likes to ride his bicycle, walk, and exercise their energetic dog, Pepper. His secret obsession is, of course, Krispy Kreme donuts.

John Klundt
John KlundtAssociate Pastor
John came to Broadway in June of 2001, as the Youth Pastor. After a few years serving as the Youth Pastor, he transitioned to fill position as the Associate Pastor in 2005. As the Associate Pastor, he leads the staff, oversees ministry teams and teaches occasionally. John is very passionate about seeing Broadway continue its vision of becoming a church for the un-churched.

John is married to Kayleen. Children Alizabeth (son-in-law Cody), Joshua (daughter-in-law Kaeleigh), Kameron (son-in-law Tim). 5 grandchildren, Kale, Mila, Eslie, Kyra and Jaxtyn.

Frankie Lunn
Frankie LunnYouth Pastor
Frankie grew up in a small town of LeRoy, Illinois (3,500 people). He graduated from Johnson University with a B.S in Strategic Ministry and a degree in Leadership from the Leadership Institute at CCV. Frankie came to BCC in 2016 because of his passion for youth ministry and the community that BCC has built. Frankie felt like he belonged to the BCC family even before being hired. Frankie is the leader of the Jr and Senior high ministries and helps out with VBS as well. Frankie is passionate about teaching the youth about Jesus and coming alongside them in their walks with Christ. In Frankie’s spare time he likes to coach football, play and watch sports, and hang out with friends & family.

Kim Bristol
Kim BristolPastoral Care Pastor
After graduating Bible College, Kim spent nearly 40 years in pastoral ministry, mostly in Indiana. After retirement, he and his wife moved to the valley and made their home in Apache Junction. They began attending Broadway in 2011. Kim is the Pastoral Care Pastor and oversees the Oasis 55+ Ministry.
He married his wife Linda in 1965 and they have 2 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, and 13 grandchildren, 7 of whom live in the valley.

Erin Hopper
Erin HopperChildren's Director
Erin began attending BCC in early 2012 with her husband Michael and children Justin and Katelynn. She quickly became involved in the Children’s Ministry serving as a greeter/check-in helper, occasionally teaching classes in Pathways, and helping in the nursery. Erin and Michael became leaders of the Pathfinders group in January of 2014 and have really enjoyed spending time teaching the kids and encouraging them to serve others. She is incredibly excited for the opportunity to serve as the Interim Children’s Director and looks forward to becoming more engaged with the children, parents and staff here at BCC.

Tom Cooper
Tom CooperBusiness Director
Tom came to know the Lord late in life. Tom says, “But, He has used me in some fantastic ways already.” Tom married Mari in 1972 and they have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Tom came to Broadway in 2002.

Mark Azersky
Mark AzerskyNew Hope Community Center Director
Mark and his wife Janet have been attending BCC since 1988. Mark has spent his life working and relating with people. He started as a camp counselor one summer and loved spending time with children. Mark met his wife in the Air Force where they served our great country. He went on to get a bachelors and then a Master’s in Education from Arizona State and Northern Arizona University. He taught primary elementary grades, KG-2nd, and retired from teaching in Apache Junction with close to 25 years of service. Mark and Janet got married in 1977 and have raised 2 interesting children who are now adults. They have a blended family of 7 grandchildren. Mark has dedicated his life to God and is blessed to be the building director of the New Hope Community Center which has just celebrated its first anniversary. Rod Larkins
Rod LarkinsClassic Worship Leader
Rod has been the music director for the classic services at Broadway Christian church for 20 years. He currently chooses and arranges the music for congregational singing, rehearses and directs the adult choir, and schedules special music and musical events throughout the year. Rod was born and raised in Chandler Arizona where he graduated from Chandler High School. He received a BA in Music Education at Arizona State University and a Masters in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona State University. In addition to directing music at Broadway, Rod teaches music and band in the Mesa District. Rod is married and has 3 sons, Brennen, David, and Matthew.  My wife Darlene is also a teacher in Mesa and currently teaches math at Rhodes Jr. High. In addition to teaching and directing Rod plays trumpet professionally throughout the valley for shows, dances, ceremonies, and concerts.

Stacy Vogel
Stacy VogelModern Worship Leader/ A/V Administrator
Stacy came to Broadway Christian Church back in 1988 at 3 years old. She was raised in a home that encouraged using her gifts and talents for God. Singing is something she’s always had a passion for and she began on the worship team at 16 years of age. She grew into a leadership role on the team and at age 23 was asked to take the modern worship leader position. Stacy also works as the Audio/Visual Administrator and enjoys the creativity her position allows. She loves having the privilege of working at BCC with such an amazing group of people.

Stacy is married to Tim Vogel.

Mike Miller
Mike MillerCelebrate Recovery Director
Mike’s background is in carpentry. He and his wife Tara and daughters Sara and Carly moved to Mesa from Columbus, OH in July 2009. They started attending BCC in 2010 and Mike serves as Co-Head Usher in the Contemporary Services, a member of the prayer team, and as the leader of Celebrate Recovery. Mike says of CR, “…it is my heart and my ministry. It is my honor to glorify my Lord and Savior by loving on and helping anyone with hurts, habits or hang-ups overcome them and get closer to God.”

Elizabeth (Beth) started attending Broadway Christian Church in the summer of 2013 and is very excited to be working somewhere she can use her God given talents to serve the Lord.

Beth enjoys working with such a fantastic group of people.

Beth is married to Tim Tomaszewski, has four children, a daughter in law, two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Karen Bever
Karen BeverFirst Impressions Director

Karen was raised in Michigan and Minnesota. She has been in Arizona for forty years; therefore, is a native. She and her husband Gary have 3 adult children and 3 grandsons. Karen spent forty years in the property and casualty insurance business as an underwriter and recently retired (sorta). She graduated from the University of Phoenix in 1998. Training and teaching have always been her first love. She also loves to read and spend time with her family.

Heather came to BCC in 2010. Heather grew up in Missouri and graduated from Missouri State University with a B.S. in Mass Media. Heather works on the website and videos for BCC, and also works as support staff on Sundays. Heather’s other interests include creating art and working on many types of creative projects.

Sherry Rhoadarmer
Sherry RhoadarmerLife Group Coordinator/Administrative Assistant
Sherry came to BCC after meeting her husband Todd in 1998. Her family moved back from North Carolina in 2008 where she was hired to collect and input numbers for BCC Plus One Campaign. She quickly worked her way up to working in Facilities where she learned all there is to know about the BCC campus. She then had an opportunity to work in the front office supporting the staff and greeting those that visited BCC campus. She loves her job and there is hardly a day that you enter the office and she does not have a smile on her face.

Alice came to BCC in 2009 when she and her husband, Doug, moved to Mesa from Des Moines, IA. She is so thankful that God has opened doors for her at BCC to help others and to work with a fantastic staff. Alice has two stepdaughters, who live in Seattle with their husbands and families, and one son, who lives in Des Moines, IA.

Becky is a 1975 graduate of St. Louis Christian College (BSChr.Miss.) and a 1993 graduate of the University of South Carolina (MLIS). Along with her late husband she was a missionary in Hong Kong and Thailand for 19 years. She moved to Mesa in 2016 and is delighted to be a part of the team at BCC.

Todd has been attending BCC since 1990, and started working in Facilities in 2010. He is married to Sherry and has 5 beautiful children. His favorite thing about working at BCC is getting to help out the many ministries at BCC. He enjoys anything Si-Fi related and Nascar.

Wayne SmithFacilities Team Member
Wayne grew up in Mesa and went to Red Mountain High School (’93). He has been involved in Celebrate Recovery here at BCC for 6 years, and he leads a men’s small group and a CR step study. Wayne is a certified caregiver and plays guitar and enjoys sci-fi books and movies.
